That Levi’s cellphone (yes, the jean company) we told you about last October has finally been unveiled. To us it looks like a knockoff of a Sony Ericsson, complete with silver, black and brown trim and “shiny silver” and “shiny sand” editions. Unlike when fashion house Prada joined heads with LG and made the Prada Phone, Levi’s solution doesn’t look fashionable or cutting edge. Normally we’d complain about phones only being released in Europe and not the US, but in this case we’ll save our groans for another day.

battery life.

Sure, this 7-inch
portable Wii LCD screen contains its own IR sensor bar, but how fun is it to play Wii on a 7-inch screen? Can you imagine your family gathered around a campsite, huddled around a fire, smacking each other in the face when your mother swings back to serve? Luckily it’s only 14,800 Yen ($119), which isn’t too bad a price to pay for a 7-inch LCD. Plus, in Japan, everyone crowding around a tiny object is pretty much standard practice.

There aren’t many details on the iRiver teaser site, but from what we can make out, this “Life Unit” will have DVD, TV, PMP capabilities, WAN/LAN connectivity (Internet streaming?), slot loading CD/DVD inside an auto-sliding door, an SD slot and will act as an access point/charging station for other iRiver players.
